I miss Singapore. (At least I'm going back soon!!)
Trying to find a good brunch place (at a decent price) in Durham has proven to be a challenge, but back home there were cafes everywhere. And although I'm not the biggest brunch fan - there's something tiresome about always seeing the same variations of eggs benedict/florentine/royal; french toast w honey/fruits; pancakes/pancake stack/hotcakes; etc - it's still a great weekend activity to hang out with friends and enjoy the morning.
So, throwback to Dutch Colony (we travelled all the way to the East for this and waited forever for our food in the back room which seemed like the good idea because of the skylight but essentially was a greenhouse) where french toasts were cheap but photogenic and where coffee came with latte art.
