308 - Les Amis

Great food awaited me during winter break.

Yeah, don't throw me shade about eating this instead of "authentic, local food". I had my fair share of those too, but nothing beats exciting fine dining with visually pleasing plating (and your parents footing the bill). I honestly didn't like this as much as Jaan, but then again the different price points make comparison a fruitless endeavour. Les Amis has a much more casual vibe if you don't like the 'pretentiousness' of Jaan, but the food (and the view) is definitely better at the latter.

They offered either the usual chef's menu or an a-la-carte 4 course meal, which is great for multiple diners cause you can basically get a taste of the whole menu if everyone chooses differently. Stand-out dishes include their bacon and cheese bread (unpictured), salmon two ways (especially the salmon tartare, pictured above) and the gorgeous chestnut dessert. Also helped that the chef came out to say hi and to bestow upon us some complimentary cakes to take home and "eat for breakfast".
